Yep, today, Sunday, is my last day in Townsville as I will be on the move as of about 9am tomorrow. I will be travelling along the Bruce, Pacific and part of the Hume Hwy's then ducking across to Warnambool, Victoria via Bendigo area, the the 2014 Northern Migration will end at the end of August. Yell out if you see me.
My dad and poppy duties are done and dusted, daughter settled and happier, grandkids, well, they are kids and me, the big kid, I'm head'n back to base camp to sell the bloody lot and become a "Full Time Grey Nomad", can't wait and I tell you that for free.
Stuff the system, I've had enough. Time to really getting stuck into this retirement thing. I've finished the three year apprenticeship 2 months early with honours Might even go for a Doctorate, mmmmm, Dr Dougwe, sounds good
I have met great people while being a "Part Time Grey Nomad" so look out Australia, Dougwe is on his way.

With weather like this down here take your time mate... it's freezing in Victoria.
Many years ago I met a couple who were living in CP in Hastings, they had come to the end of their full time travels with the woman getting
dementia. They lived in an on-site van and annexe and I must say once inside it was really no different to a house. They had everything they needed.
Good Onya Doug Safe travels and wave if you pass thru Geelong
Cheers
Mike
I will he going through Geelong on the last leg of the trip Mike. Thinking of going on a voyage to get to the other side instead of going up to the big smoke then down again, easier that way.

A house is a liability IMHO....
Go for it Doug.
Geez mate, Hastings CVP. I decided to leave home at 20, bought a 23ft CV with canvas annex and moved into the Hastings CVP. I visited there a couple of years ago and, shut the front gate!! What a change, didn't recognise any of it.
As for the cold, oh well, have to brave it for a little while, my plans won't do themselves.

I haven't done the PHD yet Plus I think the Education Department will have to invent a Grey Nomad PHD anyway
I thought you would have the girls selling a few bottles of Dr Good along the road in your travels (as in Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves song, one of my favorites)
