I reckon you'd be wasting your time trying to find someone/somewhere that wrecks caravans - if you did find one then it would be London to a brick that the internals would be rotted out. I'd be looking at garage sales or classifieds where people sell their old kitchen cupboards/bedside tables etc as they are built exactly the same as caravan cabinets. Some tips/dumps sell these sort of things as well.

that's a really interesting question. there is an old caravan park at Dakabin qld. they have lots of old vans, not sure what they do with them though. anyway,that's a top question. I have often wondered how long a caravan lasts and then what happens to them.

Years ago Denis, I had a 2000 Avan Aliner and the top vent hatch winder screws vibrated out on a bumpy rocky dirt road (taken by mistake)
The screws made their way across and under the folded down roof and fell off the sides somewhere.
I searched high and low for these particular screws including a caravan wrecking yard in Cairns without success. Finally found a wrecking yard in Mackay who had a yard of wrecked caravans and a warehouse of bits and pieces including screws etc. Luckily he had them in his very organised parts stock.
I don't know if they are still there as this was not long after I had the van, so say about 2001. He was on the eastern side of Mackay in a back street. Someone told me he had moved later on, not sure about that.
After that, with the replacement screws I put a dob of silicone on the screw head to prevent them vibrating out, worked a treat.

Thank you all I figured with some insurance write offs and repossessions etc there may be someone in this business, I will endeavour to find some bits and pieces just trying to decide to renovate an older van or wait until I am richer to buy a later model,thanks all
