I heard about a new book yesterday called "Australia Free", it is a state by state guide to things that are free in Australia. This includes free camps, and free activities area by area.

I saw the drafts yesterday, and it includes good clear uncluttered maps, camp site details with photos, and photos and a write up for each of the activities.

I wish I had a copy now, but I am going to have to wait a couple of months for it to be printed and distributed.

Anyone heard any more of this guide ?    Where   could I  purchase a copy ?  The concept sounds great . Cannot find any record of it anywhere . Does anyone know the authors name  or any other details?

Heh Heh, gotta smile at the title, I imagine anyone looking for a book of this nature would expect it for free, hardly an incentive for the author to get to work collecting the required data.

Hi folks, I did post about it when it became available, but I can not find it now. 

I have a copy, and it is good value, it does include some free camps, but it does not replace Camps or Wiki, where its value lies in providing information on what to do when you get to an area.

We had a good chat with the guy who has produced this book, while we were at Greens in January. Lovely fellow. Had travelled Australia for 2 years collecting and checking information. He also invented the batwing awning.
