I had the same issue renewing.. called them and they had it running in less than a couple of minutes.
The Lady advised me to call anytime as new and re-registrations can sometimes get caught up in the system.
They were professional on the phone and only to keen to assist.
have done the same before, some silly bugger will ask. had to google it before they took the mick???
edit sorry guys for the highjack.

you did it right, if ya don't know then ask or search, don't ask you may never learn that's the way I learn but I still forget sometimes and then I call it a senior moment.
Just be for you contact My Sattv to have your Vast receiver unlocked, can you receive channel 800. This is a default channel and providing you have your dish connected to your Vast receiver and the dish is correctly aligned, you are all set to go and contact My Sattv. They will then send out incripted imformation in there transmittion and is linked to the 12 digit card number that you will have given them when you regester. This is why other Vast receivers are not effected.
If you cannot receive channel 800 and you ask My Sattv to turn your receiver on, because you are not aligned up correctly to the satilight it will NOT work.
You have to be able to receive channel 800 FIRST.
When I do my re - regerstration I do it on line and on a week day, never had a problem.

when you first get connected by vast it could take 20mins to a couple of hours to get the signal, so get it to 800 then get the re reg done then wait awhile, I have my dish setup in the garage and once a week I turn the system on just to keep it up to date, of course I have the garage door open.
oh if its over 6 months you may need to re apply to vast but I think you have already done that,
One thing that i do with my set up at home is I have a second dish mounted on the roof of my house and alighned to the correct satilight, connected to the Vast receiver and the caravan is connected to the power ( keep the house battery happy ) and also the Vast receiver is pluged in to power, I have a 12 Volt version.
Now with the receiver powered up and connected to the dish the receiver is able to get the up dates that happen from time to time. Doing this saves any problems with seting up, and finding that your receiver needs to be reset/ turned on/ repinged, what ever, but saves problems from only been able to have your Vast receiver turned on during the week and you have taken the caravan way for the weekend and find out you have no television.
