AS3001 generator and Inverter

I have removed the content of this post as it way too dangerous for non electricians. If you want any work done on your van... get a qualified A grade electrician to do it!

Safe travels

Hi Phil

Yes,  That is quite correct,  No neutral earth BOND in a "'Transportable Structure " wiring, under AS /NZS 3001 ,EXCEPT IN NEW ZEALAND

An isolated inverter or generator permanently wired in, requires a Triple pole  Double throw switch

A inverter or generator permanently wired & fitted with a RCD rquires a Double pole double throw switch

IF a generator or inverter IS HARD" wired in ,it  Shall be with the correct switching arrangemant,&  An EN bond shall be made in the correct place!!

But should not create a MEN system, as no connection to mother earth should be deliberately made

NO EARTH STAKES connecting the van to earth

That allows the van RCD to be fully operational AND ensure the van is ISOLATED from the MEN system

If that is not done the RCD would not be fully functional

Note. ALL such electrical work SHALL only be carried out by an ELECTRICIAN ..

I suggest ,be  wary of posting detailed low voltage  electrical wiring diagrams  on an open forum

Some DIYers may think they know it all no

Thanks from me too Phil

Imagine what could happen if an unqualified person relied on your advice and still got it wrong and that caused a death or injury?

you made the right move by deleting it.
