Newell Highway is being upgraded near here and two new roadside stops with Toilets have been created. 

We free camped by Whalan Creek, not a designated camping spot.  We saw a dirt road to the creek, followed it and found a wide cleared area where we pulled up for the night.  Hidden from the highway and quieter too!  Look for Coppymurrumbilla Homestead road.
