Dogs in Denham Northwest W.A.

We've just seen some strange things that people do with dogs - all in one afternoon at Denham in Shark Bay.

First was an old bloke pedalling a bike with a covered-in kiddy trailer carrying his dog who was sitting up like Lady Muck.

Second was an oldish lady pushing a small stroller with her dog sitting proudly where a kid would normally be.

Third was a young chick with a tiny fluffy dog as big as a rat - she had let it run loose on the fish cleaning table by the boat ramp and was having a great time licking up the dried blood and scales.

Maybe this is normal -who knows.  Is it a West Australian thing?

I've seen a few in the Perth suburbs with the kiddie trailers on with the dog in it, seems to be a popular thing now with some.  smile

My wife has a pet pram she bought for the obvious reasons. She finds it much more convenient when taking the dog out.She pushes it through the open shopping malls ,parks etc and doesnt have to worry about her little girl weeing etc in these places. She gets toileted before going and when she gets back seems to work really well , these prams are a great thing to take away.By the way the dog LOVES IT. The little carriages to put behind a bike are a wonderful idea sll the family can go riding.

I guess it puts a new slant on taking your dog for a walk?

My dog takes me for a walk and he gets upset if I don't want to go.

When I lived in Glebe Sydney I often took my daschund/kelpie cross for a ride in the basket at the back of my bike. We'd go down to the end of Glebe Point Road and she'd run around Bicentennial Park. On the way back, I'd stop at the pie shop, buy two pies, put them in the basket with her, tell her NOT to touch them, and pedal back home. How she ever resisted getting stuck into those pies I'll never know hehe. Poor thing. But she absolutely loved to ride on the bike, ears flapping in the wind as we zoomed down the hills. Lots of people must have seen us over the years but no one ever commented... except a few who stopped to pat her while the bike was parked outside the pie shop.

GarryKelly I hope you gave your best mate a corner of the pie? We wouldn't have got around the first bend with our dog without one pie gone.

When we were in Denham back in April, we saw the first two - but not the third.

Gary that's an awesome Post, as one reads it its easy to visualize the scene, and how lovely it is, dogs ears flapping in the wind lol, and how  he could resist those pies is beyond me, lol, I bet the pie bag was covered in drool though by the time you got home  lol.  Yes your dog must have loved every second of it.  I lived in Glebe in 97, a nice place it is to....Kisha
