Thetford water pump, part two, thank you

Ok after messing around with hospitals and stuff over the last few days Hazel and I actually got to the water pump today. It was not easy and very awkward but with the help of info from you guys we (Hazel) got the old one out. We tested all the wiring and were only left with one option, a new pump. I phoned around in Cairns and found one at a caravan repairer, not cheap at $135 but still $ 50. Cheaper than i was quoted at Jayco.

After another hour of fiddling crimping heat shrinking and stuff it's all back together and working!

this may not seem like much of an achievement to some of you, but those of you that have met me know how mechanically challenged I am. At the moment in a full arm cast I am totally useless. Hazel has NEVER had to do anything like this befor, but she stepped up convinced me that between us we could do it, and we did.

i am so proud of this woman!!

thanks again for your help we now have a flushing toilet again. ....... Oh the little things in life.

i hope you didnt throw the old one out . if its the little submersible one in the holding tank for the toilet it can be reused .

my story
hadnt used the van for a few mths and we went away for a long weekend i took the van down and della stayed wile i worked and came down a few days later . she told me the pump didnt work yea rite i said but she was rite . i looked em up on the net and found lots of different prices . i thought what the heck and started to pull the dunny apart .i found the pump pulled it out and had another beam . lol first i gave it a spray with wd40 then i stuck a tooth pick in the impeller and gave it a twist it (all wile still connected to the power) supply hey presto . no more bucket to flush the loo and its still going after 4 mths . .
i hope this helps someone out
