Saw an advert. on TV last night advertising Tassie. If you are planning a visit soon, take a look at this site:

Hey BG, you join the Tassie promotional committee mate ?

Nice place though I must say. I have had the pleasure of visiting Tassie three times now and enjoyed all three.

We loved Tassie, had a great holiday of 3 weeks there last year, I hope that the cost of taking a car and caravan over there can be reviewed to make it less expensive, however I guess we accept these costs to see our wonderful country.

big country.jpgOne thing we noticed on our four month tour of Tassie, was that the fuel was pretty well the same price everywhere, unlike on the mainland where it can be four cents difference from one service(?) station to the next!!

A great place to visit and tour - we had a great time, met some terrific locals, as well as travellers - camped on some wonderful beaches, and in some nice forest areas. The scallop pies were delicious - especially from the café at Hamilton - and Scottsdale has what they call a Road Kill Pie - wallaby, rabbit and venison!! Yummy!

Tried abalone for the first time - cooked nicely by Old Crofter, but don't think I would be spending $90 or so a kilo for it! Freshly caught squid from the Southern Ocean was delicious, kindly supplied by friendly locals, as was the abalone.

Took a fantastic ride on a very fast boat out of Bruney Island - very exciting, could have got straight back on it was that good. And a cable hang glider ride over the Huon River was excellent - I laughed that much, I got another free ride!!!

So much to see and do - if you ain't been to Tassie - you ain't seen Orstralia!!!!!!!  So don't forget to go down to the little island - you will love it!!!
