Basecamp?

Hi kindred GNers,

I am still in the dreaming stage and not hit the road yet... but I WILL! So I guess I am a wannabe GNer?  Hope folks don't mind if I post this little request here on the forum.  I really enjoy reading your posts and want to get into it when I get back home...anyway, to get to the reason for this post...

I have one last year of working overseas and then I will be back in WA around August 2015, back to the little country town where my house has been rented out for the past few years, two hrs south of Perth.

I am not looking forward to living alone after travelling (there's always someone to talk to on the road, eh!) so I was wondering if there were any like-minded (as in wandering souls....grey nomads....travel light minimalist frugal quiet bookish types) single women who wanted to share the house in-between trips, as a base, or longer, shorter, whatever.

I am open to all ideas.

I have been overseas for a while so no doubt at first I will want to do a bit of veggie growing, etc., - and probably painting and repairing - but I am a real gypsy at heart and will soon be back to moving around, (health permitting - A1 OK now).  Maybe also overseas occasionally for a few months.

I was envisaging trying to find someone (or 2  even 3?) maybe in the same mind frame who wanted to share a roof and friendship.  It won't be free as I still have a mortgage.  Finances be discussed to mutual agreement if anyone is interested.

Like I said, I am just planning, thinking, and wondering at this stage, but no doubt the next year will go fast and it would be nice to correspond with anyone who like the above idea/s.

PM me?

Cheers,  June

Can I ask a personal question Juney ?  Are you really 110 years old !!!! biggrinbiggrin

Also, welcome to the gang and I'm sure you'll receive responses from others with similar ideas to your own...

Good photo you have for your Avatar. I've seen it before. Only joking about your age. When I looked at your profile it shows you were born in 1904. I think you meant 1940 biggrinbiggrin Which makes you 1 year older than yours truly...biggrinbiggrin

I just being a bit cautious. ID theft is on the rise so being careful about personal facts online is wise. Might change me pic. Don't want to give folks the wrong idea...lol...

Recently topped up Myki (transport card) on BPAY, it was a small amount $20 or so, and on 2 separate occasions, it went missing.

I was unaware that BPAY isn't owned by the Bank, it's a separate organization.  The Bank could not help me, I had to phone and sort it out myself.

Now, where possible, I use the official website for the bill I'm paying, keep receipts and regularly check with my bank statements.

Hmm I'd be very interested Juney if it wasn't so far away from where I am. Plus I have two dogs so probably you wouldn't like that. I am still planning and hoping to hit the road soon, just got to get a few things sorted. Hope you enjoyed your time away and enjoy being back.
