Yes Gary, last Thursday. My wife, Eril turned 65 last month and she is on the Carers pension. I am on the disability support pension and I turned 65 on 20th June during last pension fortnight. Never had a problem after Eril's birthday.
Rang our finance guy and he is looking into it. He wants us to remain on the Disabilty and Carers and has sorted Eril's with Centrelink and has put the paperwork in for mine. Having my birthday close to the end of the financial year sometimes causes hiccups.
LOL thats hilarious and you may just be right. This budget is put together by morons, who have no concept of what its like for those really in need of a Pension or the aged. I feel sorry for those especially on Disability Pensions who may now have to work to get their Pension, thats if they are over 50 yrs old and have received the DSP for more than 5 Years. I would imagine this would affect many and those on the road trying to enjoy their travels. To bad if you have worked hard all your life for it and paid Taxes says the Gov. ....Kisha
Kisha the reason people who have worked all their lives , paid taxes and now deserve to be looked after and aren't is because people who have never worked and are still young enough to work receive disability pensions for being drug addicts and alcoholics. We can really blame any side of politics for the position they have created, unfortunately we have to live with it
Spoke to our financial guy this morning and all is sorted. Will get paid tomorrow. He said that Centerlink still have our old address on file even though they have been asked to change it. Been at the new address 12 months now!!! Lat week I sent an email to the new owners of our old place asking if there was still any mail coming there. No reply and as they are a bit "strange" probably binning it!!!

Well said Neil & Raine. I think the cuts to disability pensions will be the ones who are able to work and just choose not too.
