As John said Doug, also has short river cruises of the Darling River from the jetty at the back of the camp also.

See;   http://kidmanscamp.com.au/bourke/

A camp somewhere near there is also shown in the camps book, not sure if it is free or a small charge...

Hi John, Warrego Riverside Tourist Park is a good place to stay at Cunnamulla , drive through sites, very clean ablution block as well a good manager, her name is Judy , its beside the Warrego river and about 3ks out of town. There is happy hour(s) by the river with a good camp fire as well. Cheers Reg

If a pigeon does a drop blame Wombat, also check the droppings are not cubed as he may have learnt to fly! wink biggrin biggrin biggrin

I think the owner of Kidman Camp (a caravan park) also owns the caravan park in Bourke township also.   For anyone that hasn't been to Bourke, check out Fred Hollows grave at the cemetery. smile

Stayed there last year and I think the price was about $30 night for the 2 of us. Get in early and you can pick your own site. Lots of drive through sites and grassy. Good amenities. We stayed 3 nights.

Mays Bend free campsite is about a Km further north and it to is right on the river. A very nice spot but not in wet weather as dirt road.

Kidmans Camp . ... Refer post re Warrago River CP at Cunnamulla

i believe the park is for sale ($1.5million if you have it lying around)  as the owner is finding it difficult to juggle  family and business at the same time consequently the owners have to rely on  relieving managers/staff. Granted, the park may be 5-star, but communication processes need to be improved. A word of warning, don't bother contacting them via their website, I have done this two  years in a row and both times  it took a week to get a response, first time I just went past Cunnamulla, but this year I emailed my concerns and got the explanation ... I was told .. Nicely and with an apology  I might add ... That phone or email gets a quicker response ..... Phone does not suit me and why respond to emails and not web contact???Needless to say by the time i got the response, i had made other arrangements and stayed at Eulo.  I will not be trying again unless new owners or management in place. I have been told by other travelers that they have had the same problem.

 Gooday John

When you go fishing at the park go down past the paddle boat to the point ,I wreckon you will be shore of a fish, but fish in the river not the little backwash, when we were there we caught half a dozen only little ones but great fun.

Kidmans camp is great. A friend stays there regularly. We enjoyed it too. Safest place in Bourke.

I was at Kidmans camp about a week ago and it was great, good camp food and a top poet comedian entertaining on some nights. Don't know the price thoigh as I just pay as a dollar here or there matters little these days.

i then went WarregoRiver Park at Cunnamulla and that was great too, as  was Blackall and now the 'Matilda' park at Winton where a stay is a must for me as I just love watching Mel & Susei performing each night, what talents they are.

good travelling Moamajohn and enjoy, I met your mate 'Dunwurkin' while in Echuca a couple of months back, a great bloke he is too.

Hi John, we stayed there in 2010 when our wonderful Toyota decided it wanted a rest - NRMA came to the rescue and gave us a rental car and 6 days stay at Kidman camp. And they looked after us pretty well too. enjoy your stay.

cheers

We always used to stay at Kidmans Camp when going through that way. Have seen it grow and develop over the years and it has been a favourite place. BUT now we travel with the stumpy dog, and Kidmans is not dog friendly. I so wish they would change that policy.
