Thanks for all the response's guys. Looks like I hit a nerve there.
Sadly it looks like my experience is not an uncommon one . All the more reason to recognise and support those business's who do offer true customer service and "Do the right thing" by the customer (us)
Just a little addendum to my story.
I have taken ALL the advertising of the business in question off my van. Sorry to all those people rushing to buy the spare wheel cover, It has been filed into the big green filing cabinet with the red lid so it is no longer available.
OOPS! my addendum..... Taking off the advertising.....Well I removed a strategically located vinyl sticker off the front of the van. "Strategic?" you ask? Well aren't I the unlucky one. I remove the sticker to find a dirty great (well maybe not that huge) rock dent in the front of the van............ ............ Obviously "I" have picked up a rock and it has hit dead center of one of the (unmarked) letters of that sticker. How unlucky was that!
Thanks for the responses guys. I'm off to read the "Recommendations" part of the forum.

After the company I bought my Pop top van from informed me they don't do services on their vans I decided to contact the manufacturer to ask about warrantee items.
I sent 2 emails to Crusader Caravans last week inquiring about where to go for warrantee work and got no reply...... So I rang them today.
"Hello I have a 3 month old van I would like to get it's first service but I have a couple of minor warrantee issue I would like to discuss please"
Issue 1 - The external power socket had the lid break off the first time I used it. "Yes you can get that fixed by a repairer, but first get a quote and send it to us. Then you can get the repair done once we approve the quote"
Issue 2 - One window glass is offset to the point that the latch that holds it, doesn't. "Oh that's a Dometic product, so you will have to call them and arrange an approved repairer to see to that. Here's their number........"
Issue 3 - Oh before I go I wanted to mention that the electric brakes seem to be dragging. On a short trip of 20km I found one wheel in particular was hot to the point where I couldn't put my hand on the wheel. "Ahh well you'll have to ring the chassis manufacturer, they deal with any brake issues you know. Here's their number......" (am I sensing a pattern here?)
I rang the chassis manufacturer. A very pleasant guy. I explained the issue with the brakes. "AAAh well that's an ALKO product you see, you'll have to ring them to find an approved ALKO repairer in Adelaide. Here's their number.........."
So Yes I made the call to ALKO who gave me the number of a business in Adelaide that are approved to do warrantee work on the brakes. I live 40km south of Adelaide...where is this business they recommend? You guessed it north of town (20km in fact).
So for some silly reason I'm feeling just a little peeved
I wonder if they would cover the warrantee claim If I drag the van 60km through traffic and arrive at the repairer like an excerpt of a Mad Max movie with the van all ablaze as I arrive, or would I have to make 423 phone calls to all the manufacturers of every single component in the van.
They call this "After Sales Service".....................Good isn't it!
