Can't see why not. The only issue might be lack of space down the side of the door. But then I'm not an expert.

There are scads of Awning fitter businesses out there doing this sort of thing on a daily basis.

Pity that you are not in the Brisbane area. I could put you on to a good trustworthy one.

I agree with Cupie. There are a number if Caravan/MH firms doing awnings and other items. I see you are in Port Stephens, so I can't help you there. I'm in Tasmania and could recommend a reliable firm here. Get out the Telephone book for your area and go thru the Yellow Pages or search online for Fiamma Awning Agents in your area.

It would be possible but small. Maybe if you got rid of that widow you could go across further, just a thought.

The Fiamma awnings in my opinion are too flimsy and do not handle the weather very well

I think the awning size would be determined by the need to have attachments at the floor level of the motorhome. Therefore, your awning could not provide as much cover or shade as the one on the van.

What is the reason for the change? If it is just because the current one is not robust enough you may be able to get a roll out one of the same size. I say may as it will depend on whether you can hang the front arm on the body and still be able to open the door OK.

I'm shopping around for a motorhome, thought Mmmm, still balancing the for's and against on updating my lovely little caravan. There's a lot to consider!
I figured this one fitted the bill but wasn't sure about the awning. I can now see the problems I may create in changing the awning.

I agree that the Fiamma are fairly flimsy as I can attest to having one on our Coaster, But I drilled a hole each end and put a tent pole and rope on it when extended and it has made a world of difference. Prior to me doing this if it just looked like wind I wound it in.

We spent 11 nights at Harrington recently and had some strong winds at times and I left it out and never had an issue. All I added to the kit was 2 x adjustable tent poles and 2 x spring and ropes.

Pull it out, chuck away and fill the hole with putty Ken. I had another look at the original pic and my idea wouldn't work anyway cos there is no where to put the fixing rail that end, silly me.

It's all "his" fault you know.

Mmm....could even use my deflapers with that set up Murraman, if they could be hooked onto the awning frame somehow.

Yes you can fit a Carefree Awnings or Dometic Awnings to your motorhome, they are generally stronger than box awnings. You just need to measure and make sure there is space on your wall in the right spot to mount the hardware. Once installed you can always leave the legs attached to the wall of motorhome like pictured if they don't reach the ground. Check out this guide: Caravan Awnings - Which is Best for your RV

I agree, the Fiamma awnings are pretty light weight, we have traveled Australia using one on our MH without problem, we do take the precaution of adding a couple of guy ropes (one on each outer corner) and keep an eye on the weather, if its very windy we wind it up.

They are easy to deploy and stow, couple of minutes, jobs done. smile
