What we learned on our first trip.

Had our first trial run to Halls Gap.  145kms from home. All went well.

Things we learned was,

1. Set your van up well before you start and it will tow well.

2.Towing is easier than first expected.

3.Have seperate  sullage hoses for shower and kitchen(water backflowed into shower)

4.Only one person in kitchen at a time

5. Cook meals that have minimal preparation.

6.Have somewhere to store muddy boots.

7.Do what your wife says to do

8.Buy good quality red wine

9.Keep farting to a minimum.

10. Did I say, Do what your wife tells you to do?

As long as you enjoyed the trip Collo that is the most important thing, well maybe second to doing "what your wife tells you".

Collo, get a sink plug and put it over the drain in the shower. Put something to weigh it down and you will no longer have a shower reflux.
Alternatively, you can go the more expensive and up market solution by getting a oneway valve for your shower drain.

Ah Collo,

Some very wise words indeed! However, can I add no.11 please? Make sure your other half carries the keys to everything 'cause someone - who shall remain nameless - left the bl****dy things at home!!! And we are some 1,000 kms from home!

PS Also left the hearings aids at home too!!!!!

Sounds like a valuable learning experience which I can assure you will continue as long as you remember the number one rule of caravanning always do as your wife tells you and the only answer is yes dear.
