I have been in Perth wa for many years but Cairns will always be my home love to get back and see friends and family
Dont judge the town by one bird brain who is probably an import anyway

We've been to Cairns 3 times in the last couple of years. We liked it and will return. However, we weren't in the van, fly in/ hotel stays so suited the touristy thing. Certainly overrun with Japanese/Chinese tourists . Our hotel was really set up for them, the TV channels were 50% Chinese channels and the restaurant served noodles and fried rice for breakfast!!!!

I have been to Cairns many times, including 5 weeks over last Christmas/New Year. Never had a problem anywhere but, then again, I'm quite a nice person anyway.

Phantom I get what your saying, I to have had a super time in Cairns not only once but twice, and have never heard any negative comments about it.  On both these occasions was with our then family caravan.   I've found people always friendly , warm and willing to help out with anything they can, have even spent days with them doing things, and always a pleasant time was shared.  I tend to take people and places as I find them,  I think to that we get back what we put out, so yeah thats a thought that comes to my mind when I hear people say alot of negative stuff about people or places.....Kisha
