I am currently in a the Morton N P at Bundanoon, NSW. It is a great little spot. Hot showers, clean toilets, huge camp kitchen, all well maintained and looked after. Great camping area. Plenty of wild life, and walks. $14 per night for up to 2 adults. No discount for solo. The nights here have been cold as expected at this time of the year, days stunning. I came across this spot more by accident than planning, one of the advantages of having no sense of direction and taking a wrong turn.
Would certainly reccommend it. Added bonus at present there it is relatively quiet at this time of the year. I booked in for 2 nights and decided to stay the weekend as I have no idea where I want to head next, wether inland or back towards the coast.
The other place I would advise nobody to miss is Berry. A great little town and staying at the showgrounds, power, water, and clean facilities, $12 per person per night. Close to everything. There was a grumpy caretaker there apparently that caused a bit of angst among campers, but he has been moved on so all is good again.
This little town is also on the south coast of NSW.

That sounds great Shekon, I googled that only a couple of days ago as we have relatives in Bundanoon and were looking at places to stay etc in the area. According to the website you have to book for that particular camp site, is that correct? A couple of others in the same park that have no showers where you don't have too it said also.
Shekon, what's the road condition in and out like, dirt or bituman? If dirt good condition or crook?
Following on from Vic41, if it is NP they can be hard to deal with to book in as we have stayed a few times at Wombeyan Caves NP and unless you get onto the Rangers on site I've found that the operators haven't a clue where you are talking about.
I realise you didn't book but are there a reasonable amount of sites?
Bundanoon is not far from us and we often are looking for that type of spot for a few days with no traffic hastles to get there. Obviously there is not much traffic around that area.
Is it possible to get the Ranger office phone number?
At gambels Vic. I did not book ahead, rang the parks number when I got here. Numbers are well displayed and staff are really easy to deal with.
Thanks shekon, much appreciated, may go there in the not too distant future, although probably very busy in the warmer months. Is anyone else there at present (other than the Kangaroos, lol)
Keith, all bitumen. Dealing with the guys at fitzroy falls office. Found them great as with the rangers that come around. Number is 1300072757 or 02 4887 7270.
10 sites, no power on site but camp kitchen and facilities have power. Not busy at this time of the year so plenty of room. Sites are large. I will see if I can get some more pics up. Telephone, television and internet all good, just slow sometimes.

While you are in the area at Berry check out Coolangatta Estate. Lovely area with winery and historical sites. Also further up the coast Kiama area. Lovely town and just out of Kiama, Jamberoo. Very pretty drive and the best cake shop around. Try the apple turnovers or bread and butter pudding.YUMMO
