Finally some good news.

Well things are starting to go the right way for me. Was on eBay looking for clutches to see if I can get them a bit cheaper than Repco can do them for and guess what found one. From a company in Perth, rang him this morning and it is free postage to Rainbow Beach, and to top it all off, I am now getting a Heavy Duty clutch with spigot bearing in the kit, and also a slave cylinder assembly delivered to the mechanic address all for $577, saving me at least $100 on what it was ...going to cost me thru Repco here at Gympie. So another pay after this one and I will have the money to pay the labour costs to fit it and then I can get out of here. Cant wait. Also while searching eBay found a solar panel kit 240w I can charge the batteries up with instead of running the generator, also another saving of $75 per fortnight. So hopefully by the time I get out west past Emerald all should be set up and ready to go, so I can start saving and pay out that arsehole bank and also start saving with my new bank which I will be opening an account with them when I get to Bundaberg. Anyway that is me for today have a few things to do, as it looks like rain again, like last night. So to all friends and family, have a good day and stay safe. Barry.

Good news about the clutch, and especially managing to sort it out while you're on the road. And I'm with you on the solar panels... why spend money on fuel when the sun is free?

Hey Rosa

Yeah it is good news about the clutch as I ordered it this afternoon and he said if they can get the order out on the truck by lunch tomorrow it should be here either Friday this week or next Monday.
But either day it does not matter as I have to wait till the 8th when the next pay comes in for me to have the final bit of money to get it done.
Am going into town tomorrow to get a few things so will be seeing the mechanic then to arrange a date for it to be fixed.

Hey Gary

Just have to get out of here first and have those couple of pays up my sleeve and then get one, as by then should have the batteries charged and fitted in their cradle I have to make.

Anyway cheers for now.
Barry.

Went and saw the mechanic yesterday and he said as soon as the parts are here and I have the final bit of money he will do the bus straight away, as cant do it right now as his guy that does the flywheels is on holidays for a couple of weeks, which is fine by me.
Other than that all is starting to look good at getting out of here by about the 12-13th of July and heading north as previously planned.
Anyway cheers for now.
Barry.

Glad things are coming together for you, Barry. I'm sure that further down the track you'll look back on this experience as just another small blip in the life of a nomad.

Happy and safe travels

Joe

Well finally I have some really good news.
My clutch parts have turned up from Perth to the mechanics last Friday.
I had to wait till Tuesday just gone before I could take it into him and he rang me yesterday afternoon saying it was finished but the master cylinder needs to be done, which I had a rough idea that it did before the clutch blow.
Well he just rang me a short while ago and it is now all done.
Fitted is a Exedy Heavy Duty TYK-6969 Clutch Kit and slave cylinder assembly, plus the master cylinder kitted out.
So am now able to pack things up by Saturday and start heading north again to continue with the plans I had, which is my first stop at Tin Can Bay to see the dolphins then onto Childers to spend some time at the Flying High Bird Sanctuary which has advertised here looking for helpers.
So all hopefully things can now start to go my way for a change.
Cheers for now.
Barry.

P.S. To my brother, will catch you sometime on the way back through the state. Take care. Ok.

great news, now get out there and enjoy, in regards to a new bank, have you thought of a credit union instead of a bank, much better rates.
