Townsville

Hi all, we will be in Townsville either Friday or Sat, does anyone know of free camp IN Townsville for a night or two, we would like to have a look around town but only have the bikes, so we don't Want to be based far out.

Also is anyone around that would like to catch up.

No free camps in Town itself but Bluewater to the North and Aligator Creek to the South would be the closest but way too far to ride a bike I think. I am in Townsville at the moment and it looks like the weather is on the improve for your arrival.

Aligator creek is now only for camper trailers and tents so check that out first ,plus you have to book on line

Whilst we love bush camping or low cost, staying some 20klms or so from the city/town would probably cost very much the same if you wanted to visit say Townsville and then visit the attractions. We stayed in a reasonable park in Townsville for around $25 a couple of years ago. Nothing flash, but we only wanted a base to tour the city and surrounds.
