Starting out

Hello everyone,

My names Tracy and I'm about to head off solo in 2 weeks. A very tired and burnt out nurse who needs a big break. I'm keeping it simple, tent and a swag but used to this type of camping and love it. I have no time frame it will all depend on weather, roads and what I find along the way that takes my interest.

Leaving the Gold Coast and heading up thru Longreach, Cloncurry and nosing around Normanton, Karumba back along Savannah Way, Lawn Hill etc etc. Gibb River Road and Broome where I'll check the bank account. So if anyone sees a white Toyota Hilux dualcab containing one brunette female during in their travels please come and say hi. I don't want to be mumbling to myself all of the time and that type of behaviour tends to scare people.

This will be my first big trip within Australia, have travelled overseas on my own but this is a little different so I'm a somewhat nervous.

Ive enjoyed the stories and banter between GN members I've read so far online,  sounds like you all have a lot of fun. I would love to hear from you.

Cheers and safe travels

Tracy

Welcome to the gang Tracy, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Yes we are a friendly lot here, well apart from a feral, nah, won't say that. Just enjoy.

Twillett, welcome to GN you will enjoy yourself on the road, being a nurse you could always pick up a bit of work around Aus O'm sure.

Now just to explain, the feral that Dougwe was almost talking about was mongrel, he's the one to watch out for.biggrin

All lies Tracy. He who spredeth the rumor is usually relating to himself. Ask Dougwe he should back me up as I am his mate this week.

Gee, talk about you lot going "off topic". All I did was welcome Tracy and next thing I know, all hell has broken loose.

Now, I don't have any friends so there.

Back on topic, Tracy enjoy the forum and that trip you are planning sounds a goody for sure. I was around the Longreach area roughly this time last year but was a bit disappointed, never mind everyone see's things in a different way. Just quietly between you and me only, it is a feral wombat but don't let on I told you or mongrel will get upset.

Back on topic now. Enjoy the GRR if your bank allows it.

Thanks for the Gibb info wombat I'll check that out.

Now guys I have to say that it will be great to meet you all at some stage and if all this banter is going on, online, it must be even better whenever you all meet up. Do you have a referee when these meetings occur or is it just a free for all?

I gather (going by my research) you all have wonderful partners and I would dearly love to meet them as I feel each deserves a medal. No offence. Great to hear such fun, keep it up I love it....... .... then maybe I shouldn't encourage you all.

Take care and stay safe

That other lot have partners Tracy and I feel sorry for their partners and I tell you that for free. Me, I'm Solo, sort of, I do have the Nulla Nymph Twins though. They are in my AV, I just wish the one emptying the toot would hurry up smile

As for a referee, nope no way, no rules, all in locked cage match.

Don't let wombat suck you in with his pretend niceness. As for Vic, well, say no more. Dazren hasn't turned up yet either.

You went "off topic" again mate.

Hey wombat mate, maybe we should move to "I Digress" biggrinbiggrin

Bloody good idea Dougwe. How can Tracy keep up with us when we are in the wrong section. And yes we can blame wombat for that again.

Hi pugs, too many people are finding out what a great place WA is it is going to get too crowded if they all keep coming over here, oh and btw Vic is not aware that there are no wombats in WA, I'm the only one, (oh and Mrs W) to see my cousin's he would need to go to a zoo and he can't do that cos he will not get out again, have you seen his picture in his AV? he is the one on the right. biggrinbiggrin

Now to get back on topic, Twillett, you do not need a van or 5 wheller to be a GN, you also do not need to be grey, just get out on the road and enjoy yourself and this great country of ours, because you have travelled overseas you already know we have the best country, enjoy your trip
