stand-up tent peg driver

Hi to all.

I have designed a tent peg tool that allows people with crook backs/knees etc;  to drive / set them without the need to bend down OR use a hammer.

The prototype is completed and field trials concluded.

My question to my fellow Nomads.... Is there a need for such a tool firstly.

secondly; the production costs look like having a retail price of around the $90 mark...

Please, I would appreciate your feedback so that I can progress forward from here.

Cheers and happy travels GN's. KB

I can be contacted on mobile 0412 466543 if needed.

I now use the screw in/out type that require very little effort with the battery powered drill and work in any soil that a plain peg works..smile

That is one solution oldbob, and a good one. But do you still need to bend / kneel?? And do you use an extension piece for the drill / socket??

I do not expect that my arrangement will suit or resolve ALL problems, but do hope it may help some.

I am hoping to go live in "Caravan Camping Shows" before the end of this year.

After that time costs may need to increase to cover "marketing costs, advertising etc".

I like your solution though Bob. Cheers, KB

Keiron

be very careful with patents,,, a friend invented a simple mechanism for raising, locking and lowering tents, shade sails and awnings used at markets (amongst other things). She spent about $80,000 on patents and someone changed something, I think the words were "materially different",,, the patent became useless as she had no protection.

She was lead along by patent lawyers and went bankrupt in the end I think after owning a very successful business for years.

Hi Keiron

are they just as easy to take out of the ground as well ??? what can be a real pain for some people
I'm using 6 inch batten screws and an electric drill to drive them into the ground what works for me better than using a hammer ( du to problems with my hands )

Hi Keiron. I was wondering if you had started production of the stand up tent peg driver.
