Keeping across friends

Have just come back from visiting a friend that we have made since we have been parked up in Rye for the past 6 months waiting to be a grandad again. We have made good friends with this fellow and visit him around once a week. He is getting on a bit, lives on his own and not in the best of health, in fact quite frail.  Paid him a visit yesterday and was shocked to see his physical state, could almost not walk and absolutely no colour at all. After quite a lengthily discussion he let us take him to the doctor who sent him straight to hospital Emerg. He is going to be there for 2 or 3 days and it got me thinking how easy it is not to be aware of those around us, especially those who are solo's. Things can go badly for someone really quickly without anyone knowing so the lesson here for me is stay across each other regularly no matter where you or they are.

stay safe

I admire you for taking the time to visit this friend. I think life gets so busy at times that people do get forgotten by their loved ones. I hope he recovers quickly.

So right Birche we all should be there for one another in need. It reminded me of the time in a caravan Park when my wife went to do the washing. There was a elderly lady sitting on a chair in the laundry by herself so wife started a chat with her and through this fpumd out her husband had a heart attack while taking a shower .She was waiting for her family to arrive to tow the van home. Wife stayed with her till family arrived so sad she had to go through this by herself. The Park did what they could she just didn't want toleave sight of her van which was parked across from the laundry. Her family were so grateful for my wife staying with her. So we should always be there for one another who knows what our life's mapped out to be The little old fella was so lucky to have such kind hearted people who took interest and kept THE EYE OUT. a d took him to the Doctor

Glad he had people who cared about him Briche, as they say, "a friend in need is a friend indeed".

If it hadn't been for your visit he probably wouldn't be around anymore.   Well done!
