Apparently in my Regent Crusader pop top rear door 2006 are 2 tv points, sick of loose connections so removed and found cable to be the smaller diam cable, think 59, on the wall plate a screw type clamp onto centre copper. Appears cheap and would prefer rg6 cable in feed from outside. Plus I prefer f type connectors, where is splitter likely to be, or should I leave alone and crimp f type
. Outside is a Clisal entry, some advice appreciated.
I installed through the wall Quad cable for the new digital in the old van and from then on never had any problems (ours was a 2001 Regent) and the Clipsal inlets you mentioned had corroded badly.
I you can best to run RG6 quad shielded cable and crimp F type connectors so you can easily install splitters ,etc This cable is designed for digital signals with less interference from electrical items in the van.Right angle connectors are available to connect to the wall plates if clearance is tight in the walls or cupboards.
cheers Peter

SOME POLITICIANS AND BABIES NAPPIES SHOULD BE CHANGED OFTEN FOR THE SAME REASON.
Let's get serious here. We are dealing with the caravan industry here. Generally they run the coax from the aerial to the nearest point. They then simply run the next run of co-ax from the back of that point to the next point. They simply just parallel the two pieces of co-ax. If you don't have two bits of cable on one of your points then pounds to peanuts there is a simple twisted joint buried somewhere in the wall or a simple T joiner.
What type of aerial do you have? Is it built in or is it a portable one? If so then consider a through the wall cable access like - http://caravansplus.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=12412 - or Ezy-eye - They allow the cable tp pass through the wall of your van and straight onto your amplifiers PSU or the TV set. This cuts out all the unwanted connections.

Thanks , your positive as usual and I reckon you are right. TV is important to us, so to improve the quality of cable to RG6' thru wall F type fittings and a splitter also F6 is the way to go. There are 2 tv points on opposite sides of the van and suspect from the inlet on the off side, 1500mm to the rear outlet, it probably runs within the shell around the front to the other side. Have an external Digimaster and will probably use an amplifier, so to avoid having unused outlets, may at the same points, use two thru wall fittings and conduit under the van with the splitter in a weather proof box. What do you think?
thanks again, Jim and Peter.
Will eventually get a sat system. Simple one complimented by good fittings in place.
Graham.

I go along with PeterD, I have the ezy-eye drill a hole inside a cupboard and route the cable through the cupboards to the decoder, co-ax sits on the floor inside a cupboard and is just feed through the ezy-eye, not cheap but you only buy one

VAST system is the way to go and make sure you register every 6 months and register as a traveller.

That is expensive for what they are... just one of these with a plastic bung ......... Fuel Well drain
Hi 03_troopy, the one on that site does not look like it has the thread all the way along the tube to allow different floor depth, although it does say 15mm-55mm and you would still need to buy a plug.
See my edit Wombat.. actually i have one like the top one to put my beer lines through my beer keg fridge and it is adjustable for different wall thickness. The second one i just added has a plug as well. Surely you could find one in Australia or for less postage.
Caravan parts shops seem to charge like wounded bulls for everything. Plenty of other sources for the gear you need.

the ebay one still does not show the thread, but I agree it is a cheaper than the eze-eye, if it adjustable in thickness.
I also agree that caravan shops have unreasonable prices for eveything, its the same for a wedding, you mention its for a wedding and the price triple's.
Strange world we live in, people pay the high price so they will be charged the high price.
The type i showed have a series of fine ridges instead of a thread. You put the drain through and slide the retainer on the opposite side and push it up tight after applying some sealant. They are pretty tight and the retainer holds firmly, but can still be undone with a bit of force.
