After getting back from greens lake it Will not start.....has Oil and New spark Plug went for a second Turned it off then wouldn't start again...I think I'll Drain it out and replace the fuel with Premium Unleaded...........Its a Kipor Portable Generator Series 2 GS 770 Does anybody have one like this ?

Actually Jim that was the first one which I had for a week remember..? Then I took it back to Bunnings in Shepparton Vic and they exchanged it This one has been going well for a couple of years
. I'll Check the wasp thing after I replace the fuel and Air filter

if you have checked/ replaced the plug It may be a fuel problem
Get some "Start you Bastard" from Supercheap ,remove air cleaner give a liberal does of spray then immediately try to start it if it runs for a few seconds tery again but this time keep carefully spraying a small amount into the carby for a few minutes then see if it contiues to run
If it does not start, you most likely have an ignition problem.

My expiernce,I have a Genquip,same genny for 9 yrs now ,runs perfect won't start,I suspected week spark,I just wipe the plug with finger or s/paper and it starts first pull,on thinking about it I thought why not choke it when shutting down,same thing starts first pull,so thinking along those lines
after storage I now blow on the fuel cap to pressurize the fuel tank and-it starts first time-most times,maybe fuel level in bowl a bit low
It is their simplicity that is frustrating ... the same frustration as we suffer from a modern vehicle for for the opposite reason - Gennie is simple/vehicle is complex.
However, the gennie only needs three things to run - fuel, air, spark. (let's assume it does not have valve/compression issues.)
* If it is getting spark at plug - plug/electrics/iginition fine - if not replace plug (you already did that) check wire connections.
* If it is getting fuel (check plug after trying to start the motor a few times - if it's wet ... it's gettin' fuel). If not, then either pour a small quantity of petrol directly into the carby - or spray the suggested "start ya bastard" judiciously into the carby.
* Check air cleaner - if that is clean than as suggested before, try to start it without air cleaner on. If it starts, replace air cleaner and if it stops then it is air cleaner problem.
Don't know the Kipor particularly, but the Honda has a 'sensor' that checks oil level - if oil level is low in the Honda it won't start or run. So check oil level.
Once all that is done and it still isn't starting, time to make a decision. If you have sufficient skill, and tools, then start pulling it down to check all connections.
If not then either pack it all up and off to the local small engine repair dude.
Or if absolutely desperate use the cup of petrol solution ... pour the petrol over the outside, step back and throw a match at it.

Double check oil level. May have oil alert,if level is low motor will stop or will not start. Some motors you screw dip stick in,others just sit the dipstick in.

First obvious test is remove the spark plug, make sure its contacting the engine & see if theres a blue spark. If not disconnect the lead to the oil switch, if still no spark disconnect the engine kill switch. Still no spark then you are looking at an ignition problem.
Update on Genie...Thanks to you all I have it Purring like my Wife...Did what was suggested and more found two ****roach's in the damn thing How did they get in there.......Burnt to a crisp...... thanks again team...
