WE both know that AWG, B&S, Birmingham, etc is not restricted to DC !!!
ALL such can be used for DC or AC, provided it has the correct voltage rating & temperature rating, if insulated.
All may be made up of various sized strands & numbesr of strands to make up the cross sectiona area .
That is what may need to be considered in some situations, such as bad vibration, movement, flexable cables etc
Actually some parts should be a sticky on cable sizes..
Note the multi core above is used where flexible wire is required.
Such as battery cable, starter motor, sub box's or stereo gear..
Note the tinned [silver] cable ?? Used on marine or salt areas..
In house wiring it would be 7 or 19 stranded..
More depending on size..
12/24v DC requires much larger cables than 240v AC
ALWAYS err on the higher wire size...
Load and fuse or circuit breaker must be less than cables load capacity..
