Nullabor

Will be leaving Adelaide in about three weeks time for Perth wondering if anyone is crossing the Nullabor about the same time. May be able to meet up.

Gday...

Nah ... I reckon ya put in the best place .... General Forum will get the most attention - and it is really a 'general' call to other GNs.

Cheers - John

Hello Helena
When we were going west, we stopped at Ceduna for a few days and you will find many people going the same way and you may be able to tag along with some of them
Make sure you go to happy hour to meet them

There are some quiet, free parking bays along the Eyre Highway as well as the roadhouse caravan park powered sites, showers and meals. Penong has a great caravan park, reasonable fuel prices and the beer at the pub is cold.
We avoid the Nundroo Roadhouse when we're working. Nullarbor gives us transport workers a good deal, as does Border Village.
The fuel at Eucla Shell is usually a bit cheaper than at the BP. You will have to fuel up at least once west of Ceduna.
The Caltex at Norseman is cheaper than the BP. Turn left at the T intersection, around the BP.
You may experience head winds at this time of the year, but the whales should be in full swing in the Bight.
Just take your time, and enjoy the ride.
Take care in the vicinity of road trains and oversize loads.
It's a major trucking route connecting the east and west. Generally the highway is in good condition.
Safe and happy travels.

Thanks for all the info. Good to know the good spots to stop at CG it has been a while since we have been that way although I do remember the road trains etc we have a UHF so should be able to communicate with them if we need to. I am sure we will enjoy ourselves, hey we will be on the road great life. Once again thanks for the info

Hi Helena,

you may be interested in my comments and photos of my solo trip across the Nullabor in 2011 in my 1979 Hi-Ace.

I prepared as well as I could in Ceduna and had no problems.   John
