Also the water in Xmas creek is even to cold to drive into in summer being 32 to 35 deg, oh no showers either but the ranger can supply firewood my mate Peter with a beard on a tricke bike, a nice man.
Also if you go through Beaudesert you gota get this farm fresh milk from Gregi the farmer at Tamrokum store and roadhouse.
Can get it at the big pumpkin on the right as you go into Beaudersert, one you tried Gregies milk you will never buy any more home brand milk, the cream is on top of the milk.
Also sold through a lot of outlets in Brisbane and some outer areas. In 700 ml glass bottles non return and 2 litre plastic bottles. I have met farmer Gregie twice, last visit was his opening day on the farm last year, a fairdimkin man who isn't scared of the giant milk companys.
Also his milk in the 2 litre sizes are app the same price as Pauls, Norco, and Dairy farmers, but the 700 ml glass bottle is a bit dearer at app $2.90.
I rang Peter app 30 mins ago to say hi, he said there be app 20 camps there today, but mostly everybody gets along with everyone there, can use a generator no sure I think its a 8 pm cut off.
Beautifull clean mountain air get that in your lungs at dawn you be set for anything for the day, after some bacon n eggs and toast cooked over the fire or bbq :)
Also no shop or fuel out there, close is Rathdowney app 30 km away and Beaudesert 41 km away.
But mostly if anyone is going into Beadue they go around asking others if they need any minor things.
Also if you cantact Peter by phone tell him you read this in the forum here and say Graham, Toms old mate put it up
Ps don't forget the marshmallows to put over the fire in the evening, after you cooked tea like a home made burger or a roast in the camp oven.
Can also do a toasted sandwich on the elect bqq just cover it with a lid app 6 mins each side and be golden brown yummy been there done that :)

There is a Stinson Memorial Park Camps6 #707 Qld and it has the $ sign with self registration. If that is the same place can you tell us the cost to camp there?
Yes John it is the Stinson park, but no self registration anymore, Peter is the ranger and goes there app twice a day as he only lives app 200 metres away from the park.
If you go to Burgers park no elect bbq but lots of fire areas to have a camp fire.
Also at Sturgers park you can get mobile phone if to put the antenna up on the roof of your an or on the picnic table metal roof, you may pck up Brisbane tv but maybe speckley but then again most wasn't to get away from tv and sit by a camp fire.
Please let me know if you go out there and let me know if you like that area.
Oh at night you can hear the bubbling of the creek running most times , put you to sleep.
From Laravale on the Xmas creek rd is a narrow sealed road about 1 vehicle wide but with caution its ok to drive on.
Sone narrow bridges one lane but have on 1 side a give way sign.
App a 7 km drive from the Stinson park you can follow the road to the end where if your fit can walk to Westrays grave, from the Stinson plane crash in 1937.
At the end of the narrow road is a small parking area where you can park your car, and go through the gate which says national park, you got to go app 100 metres and cross the creek to go on the walking track for app 8 km's a 2 hr walk each way.
The track can be hard to follow in parts but really you cant get lost, as on the right is a mountain, on the left is the Xmas creek.
I advise you to let someone know your doing the walk and be safe if you don't return by early evening, as people be looking for you, I suggest to set off about 8 am and be a easy return back to camp site by 3 or 4 pm.
At the grave it is a nice place to sit and admire the view around Westrays grave, there are palm trees, ferns, and orchids, and be a nice place to sit and open the thermos and have a sandwich and hear the birds in that area.
The wreckage of the plane is up a steep climb, I haven't been up there but I heard it a hard climb, also 3 other greaves at the plane crash site.
The last time I walked out to Westrays grave, on the track there were red or pink ribbons spaced app every 200 metres on the track.
If you want wild brids to land on your hand, head just go to the store and I think a $1 for a cup of seed, then its a swawm of birds all over you. Nature at its best.
Wow S/e Qld is great?
