WOW I am sitting in my bus with internet and phone access for the first time in ages, how good is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lawgi Park is between Monto and Biloela and I am stopping overnight prior to my appointment with the auto electrician tomorrow morning in Biloela. Here's hoping that goes down well.
This is a quiet area surrounding the hall with plenty of flat camping spots. Running water, flushing toilets and cold showers make this a good overnight stopover. There are a couple of pergolas with covered tables and seating arrangements.
On the way here there is a Lawgi Heritage Park but give it a miss and a km down the road is the camping area Camps6 #450, I arrived early after shopping and catching up with phone messages at Monto in plenty of time to do a mini set up and relax behind the sun shade. John
Steve and I stayed there on our way through also. A great spot but the toilets and showers were unusable. Beautiful views all round.
The amenities could have been cleaner and in better repair but the men's were usable, I used them and had a cold shower. They are not maintained by the Banana Shire just by local volunteers. John
The mural on front of the Lawgi Hall and tank as of October 2020. There are hot showers if you are there at the right time as the water is heated by the sun in the poly pipe/tubes on the roof of the amenities block. There is a donation "cement pipe" by the amenities. The hall committee haven't been able to hold any functions this year so the donations are the only income they've had for this year and they've had persons stealing the toilet paper and soap. Just a note: This is a different front wall and mural from the original picture posted some years back.
