We carry a bucket, sponges and a broom... That manages most cleaning.... Can reach everywhere.

As for products, pine-o-clean wipes, bottle of domestos and dish washing liquid gets me through most dirt...... Nappysan and eucalyptus oil keeps the toilet happy ..... Laundry liquid and softener for the laundry.

That's it.

No vacuum cleaner, no fancy mops or specialised products.

Since the caravan is our home while we are travelling, we do make an occasional effort at cleaning. Like the time we drove slowly through a huge mob of cattle, and the front of the van was covered in cow-poo splatter!!!

For the outside of the van we use RV wash, a nice big sponge, and old towels that have a dozen uses. Small bits are cleaned as required, a big polish job done at home.

If the awning gets mouldy I put a cup of vinegar in a bucket of water and it comes up nicely with a sponge on a broom-handle.
That broom is very useful inside the caravan and outside too... it was $3, has a handle just short enough to fit in the front boot, and long enough to use comfortably.

The good thing about not having a toilet/shower in the van is not having to clean it!

best way to protect and keep the floor of your van/rv clean, is to get some marine carpet and cut to size and put on top of your existing floor covering .... When you get home just chuck soapy water on it, hose and leave to dry .... Comes up as new and saves whatever floor covering you have in your van. We just got a remnant, measured the area and cut to fit with stanley knife. If it gets dirty while traveling, just lift it and give it a good broom or shake and put it back. The dirt and grime do not seem to go through to the floor under it!

We have a high roof transit van and I haven't found a way to clean the insects from the area above the windscreen. On our previous van I could stand on the bullbar and reach most of it. With this one I can't reach the middle from a ladder near either front door. A telescopic windscreen cleaner won't budge the little critters, and I even tried a Karcher without success.

So if anyone has a good idea that doesn't involve being an acrobat, I would love to here of it.

Seriously CT18 truck wash,,,, a capful in 9 litre bucket.

If they use it on $500,000 trucks,,,, it's a good recommendation IMHO. Super Cheap sell it.

Inside we have the "Roadvac" vacuum system and loose Flotex washable carpets, when they get too grubby they can be placed outside and hosed or scrubbed and come up like new again.

Outside, our fiver is full fibre glass, I used to struggle with steps and an extendable truck wash broom, then shammy down and polish, now carry a small Karcher pressure washer, uses minimal water and cleans all the grime and dirt off easily, then a quick shammy and I'm currently trying some new fangled polish that appears to do what it says it is supposed to, and is easy to apply and lasts for 6 months , called Solvex. (no affiliation just recommended to me)

The roof is the hard part as I am getting a little long in the tooth to be walking around 3 1/2meters up in the air on a wet surface ! but someone has to do it and clean the solar panels.

Sounds a lot of effort but we live full time on the road so do a little often.

WE have memory foam on the floor over carpet and shake it outside.. Yep portable vac and broom..
Wash outside with car wash and truck brush, much the same as cheap broom with more bristles..
Then dry off with Meguiars polish over the water bubbles.. Leave 20 min then quickly go over with clean
rag or towel when Mrs isn't watching..
Oh yes a BIG tarp on ground outside door, full length of RV under awning...
Broom tarp twice a day when the grand kids are with us..
Seems they compete to see how many times they walk in and out !!!
I have a very diluted spray bottle with degreaser to remove all sorts of stains etc..
