The builder of these two motorhomes (credited as being Australia's first "Caravans"), Mr Kessler, lived to be 102, the first is housed at the Goolwa Museum;
I've seen the one at Nooriootpa (the 2nd one) Doug, but didn't know about the first one at Goolwa, we stayed a night with our Avan Aliner in an old caravan park on Hindmarsh Island just after when the bridge was first built, but didn't go to the museum.
Great stuff, Vic, and thanks for posting. I played cubby houses today in PJ with a few new kitchen bits and pieces, and was feeling a little guilty about being as silly as I was as a kid. But after reading those stories of Australia's first caravans. I don't feel so silly. Hehe.
Errrrrr.....we are allowed to let out the child in us Gary, I haven't taken my new toy away yet but have had an afternoon nap in it a couple of times, only to try out the bed of course !
