UPDATE #2

So another few weeks done and dusted.

It's been very hot and humid really but I survived, so that's all good, I spose it's better than freezing my butt off, after all that's why I do these Northern Migrations, that and to see family.

I was still not able to do much at all due to the tug still being in dry doc, mainly thanks to Cyclone Ita and Easter as they held things up so again this update comes photo, less.

As just mentioned and in my claytons update, you know we had a visit from Cyclone Ita and where I am based in suburban Townsville got off pretty light compared to some parts of Townsville and other towns north and south. We just got a flooded back yard, down the side and front carpet inside got wet. Some parts of Townsville got a lot worse and Innisfail further north had really bad flooding as did vege farmers around Bowen, south of Townsville, those poor buggers look like they have lost their crops so the small inconvenience caused to me was nothing at all really. The local Corrective Services have sent a team of "Safe" inmates to help the farmers clean up, that will help a lot.

I have put some pavers down on some road base leading to the Avan  to help if we get heavy rains again and that should sort that out so as you can see I have been very busy BUT did make sure it was done in grey nomad working hours only, 10.00am - Midday, with 1 hour break, unlike some GN friends in Penrith who did some work there but worked out of hours as well so I reckon they should be sent to the naughty room without toys for that :))

A couple of celebrations have taken place since the last update, Easter arrived and went as did the Easter Bunny and my granddaughter turned 6 so a small gathering of friends got together for a sausage sizzle, yelling and screaming and all that well, I spose good stuff. I missed out on the cake though, bugga.

I cut the grass out the front one hot afternoon, stupid thing to do as I suffered later due to being in the hot afternoon sun so won't attempt that again for a while. Instead, next time a phone call was made and a man arrived with a ride-on mower, that thing powered through it and front and back done in minutes. Gee it was hard work watching him though and I tell you that for free. He is going to take care of that department every two weeks for a while. The grass here in the tropics grows that quick if you sit down to have a beer it grows in front of you and before your glass is empty.

Remember that burnt hand of mine, well it is well on the mend now so that's fine by me.

The weather has still been hot and humid and to add salt to the wound  the aircon in my daughter's lounge decided to go on strike so waiting on the owner of the house to come good with repairs, in the mean time we have to put up with the heat inside as well as out, oh well.

During this last week I borrowed my daughters car and took myself to the movies to see Spiderman, good too but I think he has seen better days so he might have to retire and hang out in his web now.

The highlight of this last week was, wait for it, keep waiting, yep, I got the tug back out of dry doc Anzac Day Eve and guess what, it started. I won't go into the nitty gritty but it turns out the starter motor had loose bolts throughout so gripper washes fitted and all tightened up, tested for a full day and now seems ok. I will take for a long run early in the week to give a good run and test.

After weeks that felt like years I now have wheels again.

I needed a highlight really as so far this trip I have had car problems, had to go to a GP for the burn and bugga me if an old filling didn't chuck the towel in Wednesday so ended up at the Dentist Thursday, boy do they know how to charge, no change out of $380, just for one filling and one Xray, then she had the cheek to try and talk me into a crown not filling, bugga that for a joke, just whip it out I said, next thing she thinks the filling will hold.

On that note and until next time, that's all folks.

You don't do things by halves do you But good to see it all coming together now. Take care and enjoy the journey even if it was $380.

Do you see that Copper one,He is always picking on the good folk from Penrith. We will have to have stern words with Dougwe.

And Garry and Rox ,it is good to have you back and I gather you 2 totally enjoyed the Tassie experience.

Heading down to Ulladulla in a couple of weeks, will give you a call and catch up for a coffee.

Our shout this time. Until then.
