It takes more than 2 Grey nomads to change this light globe!
We would like to put a LED light in this light instead of the current globe, but we cant figure how to remove the globe! Does anybody else have a light fitting like this? Is there a trick to it?
Thank you for your trouble in looking this up Dorian. We've found the silver section rotates a half-circle in both directions, but that doesn't shift the globe.
PS, this isn't a ceiling light, its under the cupboard which is over the kitchen sink.

That makes it a ceiling (style) light to me. It's hanging off a horizontal surface.
I don't know if it applies to your light but the two lights in our Dometic range hood just pull out. Try getting a thin knife blde either side of the globe and try easing the MR16 fitting out.

The bulb looks the same as mine which I've just replaced with LED. Mine had two little spikes on the back and a black ring around the front.
Just a matter of easing it out then pull.
My thought is the grey part around the reflector is a cover that just pops off. Held on via spring loaded bit. The halogen globe then pulls out. Have dealt with similar lights but not exactly the same so gently gently is the way.
Check to see if any of the parts move/shift if you twist/push /pull on them..
Move it gently in either direction with a small downwards force..
- You should not need to unscrew the fitting to replace the Globe..
-- Most fitting are designed to have a simple access to the Lamp, unless they are poorly designed..

Try rotating the silver housing only a quarter of a turn
you may have to pull downward to get it to come out of the housing

Woo Hoo! thank you KFT!
Tried it as you said, and it worked,... Mr D said he tried that already and it wouldn't budge, but he didn't like to put too much pressure on it. This time it was still pretty hot after being switched on for an hour or so, and the heat softened the plastic housing enough to get it off.
