Where to pop the van for a week.......Brisbane south

Hi all,

Need to spend a week reasonably close to Underwood, Brisbane in May.

Have had trouble finding somewhere before.

Any ideas for free, budget or just real good CP's in the area?

All suggestions appreciated.

Foz

There are 3 CPs in Holmead Rd Eight MIle Plains/Sheldon that is just a couple of KM from Underwood.

- Brisbane Holiday Village is a pretty swish one possibly a Top Tourist Park, arguably the best in Brisbane with prices to match I suspect  ($50/night?).  But a very good CP.

- Across the road is Sheldon CP.  Looks a bit dodgy & their Internet Page's security certificate is lapsed so I didn't look at what they have to offer.

- Down the road a few hundred yards is Aussie Gardens, but they don't seem to offer powered sites, only cabins & onsite vans ... supposed to be 'Affordable'.

A bit further down the Gold Coast Highway (5-10km) is Brisbane Gateway Resort ..  A Big 4 ...  great but I suspect rather expensive like the first one. ($41/night?)

You have to go even further down the highway to Galaxy at  Tanah Merah Logan City for a cheaper CP at around $38/night.  An easy run up the highway to Underwood out of peak hours.

There are a couple of others that are not listed in the Sunnybank area that seem to cater for semi permanents.  I have no details on them.  You have to meander thru the suburbs to Underwood from them.  Around 15 min off peak.

Thanks Cupie,

That probably tells me I can't afford to stay in that area after all.

Looks like back to Samford or Ipswich & commute............oh well.

Hmm ..... van parks in Sunnybank ???

I've lived in the Sunnybank area for 30 years, and I don't know of any van parks, not even parks for permanents, and I reckon I know the area pretty well - Holmead Road is the closest.

If someone does have details of any in Sunnybank, please elaborate !

Regards, Brian

In the "Sunnybank Area'  there are ...

1. Possibly named Sunnybank Hills CP on the corner of Hellawell RD & Jackson Rd.   I suppose 3 to 4km Straight up Jackson Rd  from the Beenleigh Rd border of Sunnybank.

408 Hellawell Rd. Ph 3875 1874

2.  Continue along Hellawell Rd across Beaudesert Rd onto Learoyd Rd & about 400m further on the left near the Old Golf Driving range where Bradman St joins Learoyd Rd.  is one who's name I can't recall.  Possibly Acacia Ridge CP.  Around 4 km from Sunnybank.

66 Learoyd Rd   Ph 32731360

Sorry my description of 'Sunnybank Area' was misleading, though near enough I reckon.

Foz  ...  If you can call these you might find them a fair bit cheaper than the others that I suggested.  But keep your stuff secure.
