Gas And Roadworthy Certificates in N.S.W

Hi

We are looking to buy a 10 year old Motorhome privately in New South Wales. Does the seller have to supply a current Roadworthy ( Pink Slip) and a current Gas Certificate ??  We will be re-registering the Motorhome in Queensland where both these documents are required. Anyone know the rules ?

Thanks

Geoff

NSW gas and Roadworthy certificates aren't recognised in QLD they have their own requirements..also

In NSW a vehicle only needs to be inspected annually (Pink Slip) and once issued a Gas compliance plate last the life of the installation unless it is altered and then a new plate needs to be issued and attached to the vehicle

If you have a Aotu gas installation the tank needs to be inspected and updated every 10 yrs.

All other LPGas installations including those on your house, boat, caravan or motorhome are for the lifetime of the installation unless they have been changed or altered in any way and then they need to be re-certified and re-plated .

The gas cylinders running them need to be inspeced every 10 years and re-valved and re-stamped and a certificate issued for it.

Getting a pink slip before you buy the MH doesn't really do anything other than state that there are no oil leaks that the tester can see, all the lights work and the brakes work plus the windscreen wipers wipe, what is really needed is a full check up by a mechanic that you trust and that you pay for before you buy.
Cheers
