tow vechicle

Advice please , every time my wife and I decide on a tow vehicle we read some reviews and the negative responses change our minds , our budget is around $30000 so were not able to buy new , were thinking of 2.5 liter triton dual cab but the negative reviews have changed our minds , were now looking at older triton 08 , 3.2 ltr turbo diesel , any advice is very welcome ,Thanks Garry n Renate . ps using a 98 petrol pajero v6 at the moment , get around 7 to 8  klms per ltr when towing

Yo Gary ,most importantly is ,what weight are you towing now and in the future ? Clearly your budget gives you a huge scope.

OK ,Without knowing about gross weights of dual units ,if they max out at 2500 kg I would suggest that by the time you bung the Quaddy on the back you would be sailing close to the wind .However if you mean that you would be only using the Quad as a singular load well that would be OK. Also remember that if you read every review pertaining to dual cabs you would no doubt ever purchase any of them ! It gets down to you and the wife feeling good about one particular unit compared to another.Hopefully once you have made your selection you can then do the costings from then on. All the best Garry.Remember make it a pleasure researching, not an ordeal.

We ended up with a series 76 cruiser just a basic model, but in saying that we are pulling 3 tonne ,research is the best way as originally we had bought top range pathfinder which was supposed to be good, great car admittedly but no guts no glory, so had to turn around and buy the other one.

parts are also readily on hand so that is a bonus as well,

no matter what like Moamajohn says make it a pleasure not a pain, take you time and research, research, research. Good luck

We bought a Isuzu D-max 2011 which was about a year old when we bought it for around your budget (its not the base model)

3.0 litre engine, turbo diesel and can tow 3 ton.  We have been extremely happy with it we tow a 20'6" suncoast caravan

They say you can have a ton in the tray but not sure if thats when your towing a 2.5 ton caravan ?? maybe something you could

look into.  But just to let you know our dual cab Isuzu Dmax is comfortable and tows our van easily.

All the best Ed and Fran
