We run a Samsung 320l fridge freezer 24/7 using a 1500/3000w PSW inverter off 4 x 200ah batteries being charged by 600w of solar panels if that is any help..
thanks guys not sure of the size of the fridge motor but certainly the fridge is a lot smaller than 320 liitre - I would say around the 180 litre mark.bus getting fitted with solar, inverter etc in a couple of weeks so good to know in advance so we get the correct size.
cheers debs and graeme
A decent inverter will have plenty of "extra" capacity for the motor start requirement over and above the continuous rating.
Check the wattage rating of the fridge and allow 20% over that.
Our 520L fridge at home draws about 200W, PLUS 375W when defrosting, so watch that.
It would run happily on an 800W continuous rated PSW inverter, maybe even a 600W one.
A bigger consideration will be where the power comes from and how you will store it.
