Fitting a picnic table

We have purchased a picnic table for our van, but not sure of what is needed to fit it...screw sizes, silicon etc. Any help would be appreciated

Cheers,

Tamey

How long is a piece of stringbiggrinbiggrin

How about you put up a photo of the table and a photo of where you would like it on your van and we may be able to offer some educated old fella advice with a smile..smilesmile

It's an ordinary screw on standard picnic table, the position is irrelevant as I just want to know what size screws and what would be the best silicone to use

Hi Tamey, The reason for a pic is that there are actually several types including some that you have to cut out a section and inset the table into the vans wall. (I never recommend these.) It is also strange that no directions came with it.

But if it is a simple screw on just get some 15 mm stainless steel screws and some non acetic silicone in a suitable colour from Bunnings and stick it to the wall where ever you want it . The silicone will harden in a couple of days and do all the work. the screws are only there to keep it in place really but it pays to find the studs and have one in the centre area.

Tip; use a short no 30 drill bit and after marking the holes drill through a scrap bit of wood just so only 3 mm of drill is protruding. That wood will protect any hidden wires that may be behind the wall.
