Don't frighten away people whose English ain't too flash - the value of their comments often outweighs any grammatical errors.
Agree Gary, this is a forum, not a spelling bee or English class.
Many (including me) had to leave school early (14 for me) to earn a living and to help support others and didn't have the luxury of further education or the circumstances to further it later.
As long as members can understand what is being conveyed in a post, that is what is important, not whether the spelling is correct IMHO.
I think it is appalling to denigrate someone's post because of their spelling prowess.
I wonder how many valuable posts will not be posted now by those who are afraid they are going to be castigated because of their spelling????
Certainly livened up an otherwise quiet Sunday evening.
I did warn those of you who are obviously offended to not read it, but I guess that was akin to a red rag.
I accept that some folks have quite legitimate reasons for being poor at English, but with a spell/grammar checker at your fingertips and a little understanding of the rules that I outlined, there is hope yet that you can do better.
In the meantime, we can all struggle to understand what it is you're trying to say.
Remember also that you LOSE your wheels due to LOOSE nuts and you can be QUITE sure that it is QUIET when there is no noise.
My spelling gets worse as I age.. my excuse is eyesight not being as good as it used to be. If anybody gets lost in my typo's, I'll be happy to set them strait!
Vic, what does DILLIGAF mean? Have seen a motorhome with that written on the back.
There is an email going around, and at first glance it appears to be all gibberish, but if you starting reading it, one can deciper ooppss!!!! sorry folks that should read decipher, it your are in the top 10 to 20% of smart people.
Now I have never ever had a problem reading and understanding threads. There are times when I to hit the wrong key and hence a typo. Sorry again!!!
Agree with many of the comments, that we are not all Rhodes Scholars, and even the spell check is not accurate, as it is in many cases set the the American language ( I think) EG. we write a bank cheque, whilst in US, the write a bank check.
Anyway please do not walk away from this forum if you think that the above comments, and especially the opening remarks offended you.
I enjoy reading your threads.
