Clifton - Darling Downs.

Just spent a few days at the Clifton Showgrounds where you can stay for $8 per night (for van and 2 persons) Dogs allowed. Basic hot/cold showers and toilets, power available.

Clifton is a very interesting town with a rich history - 3 very interesting pubs and plenty of small shops of the old variety. The type of town that you can call in any shop and spend an hour just talking/listening and then onto the next shop. 2 or 3 op shops. A great museum with a very extensive collection of just about everything plus a comprehensive research section for the surrounding district.  Lots of interesting characters and even more interesting residences like the one where there are about 50 horses, goats and cattle wandering around/in/out of the house on the block not to be 'different' but just because 'why not and what's the problem'.

Just call in at the council to pay and get directions. Good for a few days and a town full of real country people with plenty of characters. Everyone smiles as well and it's genuine.

Agree with Hako.

We have stopped at the showgrounds several times over the last 3 years.

Very friendly town.

Hello, there is so much to see around Clifton that a stopover for a few days would be worthwhile. But did you know it
has a caravan and motor home storage facility for short term and long term storage of your RV. There is the option of under cover in newly erected clean secure sheds or outside the sheds in a securely fenced enclosure.

To add to this, the owner is experienced in caravan repairs but if you can handle the repairs yourself you can hire the DIY workshop. If dropping your van for storage they have a dump point and amenities. All this in the little town of Clifton.

And the owners are very nice people.

Sorry, I failed to give a contact for the caravan storage at Clifton in a previous post. It is 47 123377. There is also a website if you google Eastern Downs Caravan and Storage.
