This came from a Rig Manager for Global Marine Drilling In St. Johns, Newfoundland .....
They actually have to divert the path of these things away from the oil rig by towing them with ships!
Anyway, in this particular case the water was calm and the sun was almost directly overhead so that the diver was able to get into the water and click this picture.
They estimated the weight at 300,000,000 tons.
NOTE THIS PICTURE HAS BEEN RE-ENTERED, DO NOT REMOVE !!
THE TITANIC DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE!!!!

I wonder if the creator of the pic has a timer on the image for copyright protection? I didn't think anyone could remove anything from another's post either, maybe gremlins at work?
I copied the pic on Hoaxslayer, Image credit: Ralph Clevenger who apparently made up a composite of a couple of pics etc.
I'll see if this works KJ and how long it will stay there;

It is a mighty fine image, even if it is a composite.
Now the weight 300 Million tons is equivalent to a cube of water 1km by 1km by 300m, since typical ice is 92% the weight of water, that would have to be a huge lump of ice.
I have re-entered the picture at the top of this post,
No thanks to the person who removed it.
I acknowledge the picture as being a fake but,
I'm sure every-one will agree it's an awesome picture.

Hi All, Just a reminder to everyone to please keep posts friendly and respectful. We pride ourselves on having a welcoming and friendly forum and hope that everyone can refrain from getting personal. Also, just to clarify how the forum works, only the original poster and myself (as moderator) have the authority to edit member's posts. I am not sure how picture disappeared in the first message on this string but I can assure everyone that it must have been a technical glitch as no one else (besides the original poster and myself) could have removed it or re-inserted it.
