Travel Adventures - Mongrel & Delilah - Episode 5 and final

Well here we are safely ensconced in the Bass Coast of Victoria.  Our time in Devonport was spent catching up with other GN's and sightseeing.  Wednesday we spent time meeting some lovely Nomads. (See Mongrel's earlier posts.)   Thursday took us along the coast road to Stanley.  We took heaps of photos on the way there and back.  Got wet, nearly blown away, but had a great day.  Had a scrummy lunch at Stanley with a delicious dessert of Lavender Ice cream.  (Mongrel reneged on this!)

Friday we left our digs and headed to the Cheese factory, took in the topiary at Railton.  What an amazing town.  We particularly liked the 4 servicemen guarding the local war memorial.  Talked to one of the locals who was watering the statues.  He was a real character a real bushie.  After this we headed to the Anvers chocolate factory for lunch!  We came out of there with a bag of treats to take home.  I think we will be very popular!!!

So our great Tassie Adventure has concluded.  We are recuperating here in the Bass district for a few days with a very good friend and will head home on Monday.   So thanks for listening to our adventures, see you around somewhere some time!

Cheers

Delilah and the Mongrel

Pic is of "the Nut" at Stanley  will post the topiary pics asap.

Mmmmmm, was it a mongrel of a nut?

I notice you are staying in the Bass Coast area. If you have time give me a yell and if you want we could have a coffee.

Um second thoughts you better wait a few days as I had a knock on the front door at some early hour this morning and two people barged in, took over, drank all my coffee and have eaten me out of house and home. I will have to live of a bone for two weeks, that's if I'm quick enough that is. I am only a poor pensioner.

Now I won't say who they are but it certainly wasn't a MONGREL of a wombat and I tell you that for free.

All that aside I do have some very nice visitors staying and one is enjoying the bowl of water for sure.

Now, come on Capricorn, I learnt from an expert BUT I will not go into detail as to the meaning of and "Expert"

I started out with a 5kg bag of spuds and 3 people, I had 2 and when finished the bag was in the bin, see I learnt.

Just got back from doing an expertly narrated tour of the Bass Coast and some of South Gippsland yawnsmile and I tell you that for free.

Must have been a good tour as the better half of the visitors has gone to bed for a nanny nap. I think it's beer o'clock.

Edit......Ooops, that's 2 spunds not 2kg.
