Bundaberg Council reply to my many letters

We acknowledge receipt of your comments in regards to low cost/free rest areas.

The Queensland Drive Tourism Strategy, launched on 24 January 2013, was developed to encourage more travellers to take a driving holiday in Queensland. The matter of local government approaches to camping options was raised as a key issue during the consultation process of the strategy. As such, the strategy committed to develop a Camping Options Guideline for Local Governments to help councils effectively manage camping options in their communities and provide tourists with a more consistent approach to camping across Queensland.

Following a review of relevant research and policies from across the world and targeted audits in three local government areas, community consultation workshops were held across Queensland to present a number of policy options and get input from consumers, operators, councils, government agencies and other stakeholders. A well attended consultation meeting was held in Hervey Bay October 2013 with Bundaberg Regional Council, operators and interested members of the public also present. This provided stakeholders within the local community the opportunity to contribute to developing a set of guidelines for Councils based on a 360% view. Every Council manages camping slightly differently, it is hoped with a set of guidelines formed from input across all areas and stakeholders that this will ultimately help present a more consistent approach. The guideline for Councils will be available in March 2014.

Further information about the Camping Options Guideline Project is available at:  http://www.dtesb.qld.gov.au/tourism-industry/queensland-drive-tourism-strategy

We have been great supporters in favour of "Freedom of Choice" re the Grey Nomad and for that matter the general caravanning public.

www.business.qld.gov.au/events

The link listed above will give you details of the Roadside Rest area etc, with the forthcoming workshop time place and date as per the following.

Townsville Tuesday, 4 February 2014 from 1.00pm 4.00pm
Toowoomba Wednesday, 5 February 2014 from 11.00am 2.00pm
Brisbane Thursday, 6 February 2014 from 10.00am 1.00pm

My Question to the Grey Nomad forum administrators is this:-
Will we forum have representation at the above mentioned workshops????.
I certainly hope so, as this will give us the opportunity to again lobby the powers to be re our quest for Freedom Camping.

By the way, how do I communicate with this forum Admin.?"??

Any help here would be a real positive

Contact the Webmaster. Her name is up the top of the page with a clickable link.
Not sure there would be any representative from thegreynomads there unless you want to go along.
Cindy provides us with a free forum where we can access information, might be up to whoever is in the area to go along.

Bundaberg Council already allow Free Parking in the Burnett River for Yachts on anchor,

I know, I was anchored there in the river, In Town and Down by the River Mouth,

Free Camping near the beach somewhere not too far from the town, Would be nice,

Now have Coach, Big One, Needs Room to park, Its fully self contained, I can park in the middle of the desert for weeks and be totally comfortable,

It has its own waste tanks,

I still need to eat every day, Etc, Etc Etc, Which I buy in the near by town, Maybe, Once a week, Or so,

I will not stay in a Caravan Park, Ever,
