Fancy that. The pollies met in 1899 to discuss federation and 2 years later it was done! That's pretty fast work for pollies.

 On this day in 1901, Queen Victoria, the British monarch, passed away. Her reign of 63 years and 7 months is the longest of any female monarch in history.

From what I read he named it after the physic of the Aborigines camped there.
