Genquip Generator

hi all just came across an ad for a 3300 watt genquid genny for $1899.00.  this is considerably less than a Yamaha one for the same wattage.  they are being sold at TJM but also have their own website.

my question is has anyone got one - does anyone know about these.  Don't want to get a lemon just for the sake of saving dollars.

I would have thought being sold by TJM they might be decent?

Any opinions would be appreciated as very new to this camping.

cheers

deb

Hi deb

have a squiz at these ones that Jaycar have been selling for quite some time.

I have been looking at one of these for myself and to date have not heard a bad word about them.

Interesting satisfaction guarantee with those things. They come with no oil in the sump or petrol in the tank, so that must be added before you run it, and hence before you can gauge your satisfaction. But the moment you put oil or petrol in it, the guarantee is void???

was wondering about that myself Brian

of course your warranty would still be applicable if there was a problem with it.

how would you go asking the salesperson to prove it works before you buy it?
does it then become a "demo" unit.

strange

I have had a 6.5hp Genquip Diesel fire pump which I have used on the farm for 6 years,  I had occasion to get some spare parts for the pump when I left water in the housing during a frost and cracked the housing,  spoke with Genquip direct on mainland (I am in Tassie) and spare new housing and seals were with me within the week. The engine is electric / manual start and has never let me down.

I would buy another.

Deb, I bought a gen. That size off E Bay for the van. Paid $560 no problems. They all seem to come out of the same factory, just different names on them. Have seen several others at caravans and nobody has had any problems with them.

We were talking about the satisfaction guarantee, not the warranty.
