We have seatelts!

Finally!  They were done this morning, the engineer comes tomorrrow, then we just have to change the lights over, get RWC/service, and we can book the boat.  I was so excited, I did a dance in the backyard this morning, much to the amusement of the daughter-in-law.

Yes Troopy, actual seatbelts, can't get the damn thing passed without them.......... with engineering, they will have cost over $500 from purchase to approval for 2 lap belts. But it's a step closer to getting out of Dodge, so not grumbling too much.

I had a lap belt in my old FJ Holden. It did stop me going through the windscreen when I hit a tree at 60MPH (we didn't KPH back then), but because there was no sash part, it caused me to double over and smash the steering wheel off with the side of my face. If you know what an FJ steering wheel is like, you'll know how painfull that can be.

Ouchdoh Probably better than going thru the windscreen tho.

I pranged a pre-seatbelt FB holden and put a dent in the steel dashboard with my knee even tho it was relatively low speed. Seatbelts are not the whole answer, but I don't put the car in drive till everyone's buckled up. And not just to avoid a finesmile
