what did you do to your Rig, today,

Near Rebuilt the Damn thing,  But it is now at a state I can drive it anywhere, Reliably, And Safely, and have a cold drink on hand always,

I paid for the conversions in the USA, RHD, 240 volt electrics, left hand door, All to OZ ADR's.

The RHD was stuffed up, They tried to put a drag link into it from some thing else, It was too long and they bent it to make it fit,

That crap dont work here, It was condemned as soon as the mechanic and engineer looked at it,

Had to have a new one made here, which worked out good, as I now have two balljoints instead of one ball joint and a drag link,

Any Ford dealer sells them, They were machined out to a heavier size,  Win Win, for me, EXY excercise tho,

I remade the steering Box Supports, they were under size chronically, and would just twist off under normal driving,

Replaced the Hydraulic steering lines with High Pressure ones, The ones in it kept exploding with the pressure,

240 volt conversion, The Transformer cooked itself when it was first turned on, Dead loss that one,

The Genny had a stuffed bearing in the back of the Genny,   I replaced that, I had a brand new one sitting on the shelf,

It needs a new diaphram in the Gennys gas line, $1200-00 later, I have one from the states, It works and I am up and running,

No power generating, A brand new Genny with 3 Phase, 240 and 12 volt outlets is $1000-00

Bugger this, its too expensive, The Genny, I am going Full Solar, I have my boats Solar sitting there doing nothing,

Its now in my Coach, Hahahaha

No 240 Volts, its all 12 volt now, and its cheaper than 240,

Got my Fridge going, The Freezer, Freezes, The beer is the right temp, Icy Cold,

Got my water working, I even have a Flushing Dunny, Hahahaha, I thought it was a push pull handle one, Shower, Bath  and Vanity works, Kitchen sink works,

Got the 8 stack CD player installed and almost working, I stuck the CD stacker in before the power was on and its stuck in there, Radio works,

New Half Windscreen, Came from the USA, $3200-00 Fitted here, Ouch,

The wiring is a huge mess, But I am slowly working my way thru it,

Levellors spat the seals, 20 litres of steering fluid on the ground, Its also connected to the steering, which also dumped the oil on the ground when it exploded the hoses,

Pulled out the big gas tank and made a carrier for the new Swap and Go Bottles I put in there,

The Genny bay is now my battery Bank Container, 2 8D's and four smaller ones,

Fixed the gas leak from the furnace in the bedroom, It was pouring propane out onto the floor,

I turned the gas detector off as I could not smell gas and thought it was faulty,

I was looking at the roof where the hissing sound was coming from, Not the floor where the gas was,

And smoking at the time, Lucky I still got my Coach and me,

New oil in the motor, Replaces that black slimy stuff that came out of it, ?????????

New Ramps to sit it on and work under, Makes life easy,

Good thing you're a handyman, Brian. Nice boat too. I started out with a long list of things I needed a while ago and it looked intimidating. But it's amazing how things were eventually ticked off the list, and the size became smaller and smaller. Now there's bugger all to to. Patience and persistence, yeah?

Patience and Persistance, Hahahahahaha, I am running out of those, I have a USE BY date, Hahahaha, I am not getting any younger,

I would hate to think what it would cost if I couldnt do it my self, I probably would not have started either, Coach or Boat,

But the Coach is up and running, Now,

I just wish the Repairer of my boat was Just as Diligent, and get my boat back in the water, I am not happy with him,

Every thing looks Crap when its being built,

A bit of paint splashed on when its finished, Makes it look like a brand new one, Hahahahahaha,

It all takes time,

Between the Heat and the Rain, Its almost done, I wont go on the roof in either Hot or Wet weather,

Yes, I have even Impressed myself,

But I did receive a lot of Technical help from the American Foretravel Owners Forum, Who have been Terrific in their Assistance to me,

And some of the Guru's on here have done the same for me, I do thank you all very Sincerely, It has made a very big job a lot easier and now its nearly complete,

Clean it up from where this Grub has been, Greasy finger prints all over it,

Took it down to Hastings and then down the beach, Balnarring, Point Leo, Those roads are Skinny, Cant get near the Beach, Ranger, You cant park there, So I ended up at a little Beach a bit further down the road,
ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH Its down this steep road with a Hairpin at the bottom, I had to back up a few feet to get another swing at it, to get round the corner, Same going out,

Stayed overnight at the Beach, Nice Spot, Then drove across to Arthurs Seat, Damn it, I know the road, Its only short sections of steep road, This is the perfect time to find out how well it handles steep hills coming down,

One hair pin to the left, I had to back it up and get another swing at it, At least the cars were understanding and gave me plenty of room to manouvre around the corner,

Put it in First Gear and left it there, Magic, The lockers in the gear box work extremely well, I only touched my brakes a few times, Less than if I was in my car,

Its nice to know I am now driving a very safe Coach,

Then came back up the Freeway via Dandenong, Stud rd, Canturbury road, To Home,

The Hot water works off the motor, Heats the hot water Tank, Bonus, Still havent got the gas going on that one yet tho,

Two people using the water and the toilet, Half a fresh tank in two days, Have to watch the fresh water levels, I have a 12 volt water pump, Just pump it out of the river or creeks, Clean ones,

The Solar is Brilliant, I wasnt really worried about the lights being on, Etc, I wanted to see how much we used and over how long it took to get down,

Its more than capable of putting out more than I can use, Its back up to 3/4 full, so another couple of days of sun, It will be fully Charged and will stay that way, The Coach Battery is always fully Charged from the motor, and thats all the Coach battery does, Is starts the Coach and ouside lighting while driving, Head lights Etc, 120 Amp Alternator, Keeps it Charged and also whacks the excess into the House Battery when driving,,

The Fridge and Freezer are Brilliant, Icy Cold Beer straight out of it, Big Deal, I have a Zero Booze Limit on my licence, So I cant drive till the next day or so, Not even one drink same day, Such is life, Hahaha

The best part is its such a pleasure to drive, Its all Airbag suspension, So it just floats along, Its just BIG, Hahaha, Have to watch the head heights constantly, If I want to keep my Solar Panels and A/C units up there,

I certainly dont need a Generator for power, I have it all,

And some Piccys, Enjoy,

You built that in a day, very impressed.
All I done was to put the power lead and genny cover back in the box,
and get the fuel container out for a refill.
Intouch, just Pass'n Thru.

Built it in a Day, I wish, Hahahaha,

It took about six months after it arrived,

My Labour is very cheap. Its free to me,

I couldnt imagine what it would have cost me, for some other Professional to do it for me,

Nice to drive, Nice to live in, Plenty of room, Very comfortable,

I just wish I could afford to drive it now,

My boat has to be sold before I have the money to drive the Coach,

I was going to be a fully self funded Retiree, with out claiming the Old age Pension,

Capitol gains tax jumped on me, Now I am broke and on the Aged Pension,

But I do own everything, even tho my house isnt finished yet, I doubt now if I will ever will finish the house off now,

Shame about that, But you can only do what you can, OZ is Calling me, And I am going, I have chronic itchy feet, Hahahaha

Began attaching new 200 watt panel to the van roof today. When I have it sorted I will use the Sikaflex 11FC white with screws and pop rivets.
