We live in an area of mostly retired folk and the general topic of conversation when you meet a friend in town starts with "when all the kids go back to school we......."  then a description of what the plans are for the coming month/ year/ season etc.  So what is everyone planning for this year, where is everybody going?  just interested that's all!

If I get to travel for 20 years that'll make me 90... 89, actually. I reckon by then I'll be thinking the same thing, Nomadic. But I'll attend to that decision if and when the time comes.

OK perhaps this is a good time for me to come out of the closet so to speak. This year I'm thinking to give up nomadding. Yup truly. Right now I'm planning to buy a place in a caravan park (yes, I know and have considered all the arguments against it) so that I can do 'normal things' like join a library, take some u3a courses and go to a doctor more than once. I know it all sounds boring but I've been travelling now for nearly 20 years - in Aus for the last 4 years - and I have a hankering to see if I can stay in one place. So as soon as the kids go back to school I'm going to drive to Batemans Bay and start looking for suitable accommodation in suitable towns (I have a list of criteria) I'll be heading north from BB. Right now my favourite place is Nambucca Heads but that could well change. Once I've got myself sorted out I'll let you all know so that you can all drop in for a cuppa - also on my list of 'normal things' is a decent coffee maker.

Have you considered the Camden Haven area, much closer to major facilities & a much more scenic area.

Well it has occurred to me that after starting off this thread (is that the correct word) that I failed to include our plans or lack there of!  With a new van and no more appointments with surgeons, x rays, physiotherapists etc, ahead of us I see......FREEDOM!   Exploring the Murray is an option, also returning to Western Australia is an idea, have lived in the hammersleys as well as Kalgoorlie, also exploring our own backyard (south coast NSW) is on the list as well, actually we could end up anywhere!  Love trains, so we are going to have some time on the Indian pacific as well, this year is going to be an adventure.......so looking forward to it!   Hope you all enjoy it as well, hope we meet other GNs as we go.

   Hugs and rainbows from us,

Our plan, for nearly 30 years, has been to hit the road full-time.  We are now *this close* to doing it......... we will head to the Murray via our son in Melbourne, then, who knows?

All going well with medical stuff that is keeping us grounded at present we are planning on going to Alice Springs in May, going to the Get together at Crystal Brook SA on our way. Will visit family there and meet up with other family and friends from Vic and going to AS in a group. A week to get there, a week there and a week to get back to Port Augusta before we meander back via Fowlers Bay and Esperance. Plan on being away 6 weeks.

Presently in Lake Illawarra but heading back to Victoria as soon as I have the new trailer fitted out and a few jobs done on the bus.
Have a meeting near Murray Bridge with a group for two weeks around Easter and then perhaps to Crystal Brook to check on a mate how has just reported a major scare so want to check he is OK.
Then back to Victoria and if the bush fires behave and there is no Blazeaid then of to Maldon for a spot of trains and then cruise around Victoria for a few months and then decide.
Have to be in Vic for XMAS this year so wont venture far.
Regards
Brian

Enjoy Crystal Brook, we spent xmas and New Years Eve there, not a lot of people there, but the ones that were, made it a good stay, go to the pub near the post office, good food, not expensive, and the locals are lovely
