My last joy flight was from Hawker in Sa to Lake Eyre and then spent the night at William creekl and then returned the next day.
Spent the afternoon at the Australian Bronco Branding Championship at William Creek.
Return flight was at 500 ft as I was the only passenger and the pilots were looking around at the foliage etc so I had the full back seat to move across for photos.
Highly recommend to take joy flights when ever you can.
At the moment considering one over the Illawarra area. Just have to decide if I get a cessna, ultra light, pits special or tiger moth LOL.
Regards
Brian.

yes, that trip is not cheap but then most of them are not and it is in your fav aircraft, make sure when you book that you stipulate you ONLY want the 208, if they only run one aircraft and have a malfunction then you want to transfer to another day when to 208 is flying.
I have done a few joy flights - plane and also helicopter - and a few with no doors on the helicopter - that was scary for the first bit but then got used to it and really enjoyed it - have done a couple now. I think if you are able to do them go for it - you get a real appreciation of the scenery etc. - Wilpena Pound comes to mind. Anyway whatever you decide - have fun.
I've done a few flights.........One from Mt Isa to Sweres Island in the Gulf for a fishing trip, very exciting. A couple in helicopters over the Twelve Apostles and another over the Bungle Bungles . WOW that was the Best. Had a friend in Mt Isa who had his own 4 seat single engine Cessna, and I had quite a few trips with him to outlying properties, where you had to buzz the (dirt) landing strip to scare the roos or the cattle away so you could then land. All great fun.
Yep best joy flight was out to the horizontal falls from Derby, and we landed, took off again from the water. A dawn flight over Uluru and Kata Tjuta was great too.
Hi Milo and all. The first joy flight I ever went on was courtesy of the NZ Defence Force in the forward observers seat in a Bristol Freighter ( Bristol Vibrator). Made the mistake of asking the loadmaster if I could sit up front " No worries mate" says he. Take off not a problem as the ground dropped away but the landing was not so good as the ground tried to get in where I was sitting I think. Tell you for true mate s**t was trumps for about 30 seconds. If you want a mind blowing joy flight jump in an R44 when mustering as we have been doing recently, but do not forget to do the harness up nice and tight. Cheers.
Lynne booked me in for a Joy flight from Jandakot several years ago. Cost me a fortune it did 'cos I signed up there & then to learn to fly. Did that, went solo then had many hours scaring myself and anyone silly enough to come with me as I did an aerobatics course too.
Did a scenic flight over Great Ocean Drive, 12 (5??) Apostles etc. Mustering flights are also good fun.

Use to fly one of these when I started with TAA in Brisbane in the mid 70s. It's a Piper Navajo, has 11 seats. We used to do Brisbane to Coffs Harbor twice a day and daily to Goondiwindi, Moree, St. George and Cunnamulla. Great little airplane.
Done quite a few joy flights in my time, some of them they made me jump out when we was right up in the sky. Nothing beats sitting in the back seat of a Iroquois helicopter looking straight ahead and you see the ground.
