Going around in Circles and loving it.

Started off in Echuca a few days back and will keep going around in circles until a family matter calls me back to Geelong.

Towns I passed through were Gunbower,  Cohuna, Lietchville,  Pyramid Hill, Durham Ox, Boort, Charlton ( first night), Donald, St Arnaud, Avoca, Lexton, Beaufort (2 nd night) Ararat, Stawell, Rupanyup, Minyip.

Have taken up collecting postcards as not always able to get the souvenir hat pins. Have bought an album to put them in.

Unfortunately Minyip is a dying town. Only 2 or 3 shops now operating. Even the old pub used in The Flying Doctors and my son Stephen lived in while working on a grain farm out of town around 20 years ago, has been closed for some time. Covered in cobwebs.l

I hope you're taking the time to smell the proverbials, HW. At the same time, I hope you're having a ball. Sad to hear about the dying town and closure of the old pub but I guess that's the way it is. If it weren't, we wouldn't have old ghost towns to investigate and be fascinated by.

He worked on a grain farm just out of Minyip, I don't remember their name.
Not much in Rupanyup these days but got a great photo of a small shop where the whole front has been done with mosiac by the locals.
Haven't seen many roses but did go to the Kooka Cookies factory just outside Donald. Bought a 2 kg bag of broken bikkies for 7.00. Will last me forever.
I could probably slow down and see more but my memory fails me on where to go and what to look at.
Tomorrow going to Warracknabeal to catch up with friend Laura then on to Bordertown to stay the night before turning around and heading back to Geelong.
Same son used to work at Kaniva for a truck company. His very first job trucking in semis. Have just txt him for the names.
Jessie has hurt one of her back legs. Was looking out the window this morning at Beaufort when an emu comes walking past. In her hurry to get out the door she got her leg caught in the chain. The emu took off and she came back to the van carrying the back leg. Still a bit sore, sometimes she is on 4 legs, sometime she has the sore one lifted.
I'm giving her leg massages to help, wish she could do the same for me.
I'm in the park here Grae and Deb, don't need the power but already had one cold shower and about to have another, so hot here today, getting hotter over the next week, into the 40s.
Will get back to you with those names.

Hi Marj, I am at Edenhope at present. Will spend a couple of days here and then head to Nhill. It will depend on the weather. If it gets really hot I might just put the word on my Brother and sister inlaw to hold up on their front lawn for a little bit. I would really like to go out to the Little desert lodge but if it is really hot not so sure. Anyways keep in touch, might be able to catch up.

Grae and Deb, he can't remember the name of the people he worked for here in Minyip, but drove for Goodwins at Lillimur just out of Kaniva.
Sharon, this area is going to be low 40s next week so hope to get back to Geelong Sunday, stay at sons till it cools. We are not that far away from each other. I will be at Bordertown tomorrow night.

Considering I've been on the road for most of this week and travelled a good distance around parts of Vic, I haven't once parked with another traveller, caravan, motorhome or campervan.
A lot of forum members have mentioned this in their threads. Now I know it is a fact. Seem to see a lot on the road, usually going in the opposite direction

how's Jessie going?

If you are still having problems with the steering the maybe a wheel alignment would help.

Could be due to that wombat you hit and didn't know about Marj.

I noticed a headline on my poota news that read "Wombat bowled for a six", when I read the story it said that a Campervan with female driver and small black dog ran over the wombat just outside Donald Victoria and kept going, the wombat crawled into the bush with big bum up in the air never to be seen again.

The local sherif said that the female driver had a record of fast driving and may not realise she ran over a dazelled wombat as she was more than likely looking at the local cookie factory.

Funny you should say that as I got a second speeding ticket in Myrtle only days before selling her. Was in Ocean Grove.
Didn't know till the other day when the reminder came through. Never got the original.
I'm on good behaviour bond now!!!!!

Jessie is fine, putting weight on her leg okay now. Still gets stressed when we hit the road and can't just go running around in a paddock.
