problems with dometic fridge on 12v

Hi, new to forums, so please be patient.

We have a dometic fridge RM 2350 that works fine on Gas and 240v, BUT, when travelling looses the cold.

We start off with it well chilled, plugged in overnight, put in stuff from the fridge, but it does not stay cold when travelling.

Purchased a thermometer that has a read out outside of unit, so do not have to open door to check. Have had new plug fitted to van, even have a different tow vehicle, had all checked by Dometic agent and they say it is working on 12v.

Any body have a similar problem or any idea what to do next ?

Welcome Howards. Might be an idea to put the question in Techies Corner. I'm sure someone can help you there.

Good idea HW - but usually three way fridges work more efficiently on gas or electric, more so than on12v - but I am sure if you put your question in Technical sub forum, someone will be able to enlighten you. Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Howdy Howards, welcome to the gang, enjoy here and out in the playground.

As to your question, I agree that The "Techies" section of this great forum as a good place. Maybe you just need heavier 12v wire, I was having the same problem and blowing the fuse all the time, I did a major rewire of Avan and Tug and all works great now. I'm free camping as we speak and all on Solar Power. Fridge on gas though while camped.
